Here you will find spiritual terms that we use in RUU and how they apply to the RUU philosophy. Some terms you will recognize as traditional terms, and others are RUU only.

- creation: the act of making something in order to nourish yourself and others. There are creations of destruction as well, like bombs or weapons, and hurricanes. Not all creations are man-made (life on earth was made by the earth-and human life is both nurturing and destructive, as are hurricanes, tornadoes--which are made by nature). As a RUUist, we seek to create only nurturing things most of the time. Sometimes destruction is the only way, but it should be used sparingly (like defending your own life by hurting others, etc.).
- creator: the big bang created everything, which created stars, which took atoms and created the elements (from dying stars), which are in our bodies and everywhere else. We are all apart of the same thing. We are the creator, just as everything you see around you is, as well (and everything you don't see). I see the big bang as a form of conception, just as people are created.

- divine: of, or relating to, the creator. See: creator

- higher-self: that part of yourself that's inaccessible through normal consciousness. It could be a part of your subconscious.
- holy: all things sacred to you. See: sacred.

- prayer: any form of chanting, singing, writing, self-dialogue that comes from your soul. (See: soul) You can direct this to the universe, your higher-self, or whatever you like. (See: higher-self)

- sacred: anything that holds a special meaning to you.
- soul: your innermost, deep, and intuitive part of yourself that is your plug-in to the divine, the energy that makes us alive. See: divine.
- spirit: that deep, deep part of yourself that you can access through introspective work such as mediation, journaling, singing, dancing, etc.
